The Smoking Jackets - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
The Smoking Jackets
When everything goes right, the Smoking Jackets' live show sounds a lot like a throwback to the days when Billy Joel or Elton John would stage a violent, bloody takeover of the James Brown Band, and somewhere in the melee the rhythm section would be killed and would have to be replaced by the White Stripes or Death From Above, and then right at that moment Ben Folds and Edward Sharpe would bust in and just come all over everything. Also sometimes there's a fiddle player.
Vice Count - (Set time: 7:00 PM)
Vice Count
Vice Count formed in 2011 as 'The Viscounts'. Their music draws on a wide range of blues, rock, funk, and alternative influences, resulting in original songs that are simultaneously complex and soulful. Vice Count has taken their energetic live shows across downtown Manhattan, rocking venues like The Studio at Webster Hall, Arlene's Grocery, Tammany Hall, Pianos, and The Delancey. Their debut, self-titled LP is slated for release in summer 2012. Vice Count is: Joel Wolfram on lead vocals; Zach Kaye on guitars; Jason Stahl on bass and vocals; and Jack Lenehan on drums.
