Jessica Smucker - (Set time: 7:00 PM)
Jessica Smucker
Jessica Smucker writes what could be considered "dark pop" songs: catchy melodies in minor keys, lyrics that masterfully infuse sad stories with flecks of humor and hope. She performs in diverse configurations and contexts, but her songs have a consistent melodic edge. "Woven with a sort of defiant sadness, a square-jawed resilience" (Fly Magazine), her compositions often start down a familiar road but, through a series of subtle twists and curves, deliver the listener to an unexpected destination.

Unflinching in her dealings with controversial themes - God, sex, social justice, and the movement of all three through an intimate personal narrative - Jessica delivers lyrics that will trip your mind and tie your stomach in knots. Her voice gives an impression of innocence until it erupts into an explosion of rage or desire - evoking, in its gentler moments, a lullaby quality in the vein of Cat Power, Sarah McLachlan or Over the Rhine, then launching into a vocal diatribe with all the anger and intensity of Alanis Morissette, Ani DiFranco, Fiona Apple or even Janis Joplin.

A published poet and lifelong writer, Jessica found her voice in music much later. She has played/sung in an acoustic duo with Jeff Bryson (of The Vinegar Creek Constituency) intermittently since 2006. She assembled her band, The Sleeping World, in early 2007, and has guided it through several incarnations.

Jessica's solo work consists of lyrical poetry and musical simplicity. Audiences respond to her straightforwardness and vulnerability on stage, and the intimate format in which she performs. When she plays with The Sleeping World, she expands the scope of her songs into a lush rock landscape: fuller, deeper arrangements created in collaboration with some of the Central PA region's finest musicians.
Monica Ott - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Monica Ott
As a teenager growing up in Baltimore, MD, Monica Ott mentioned to her parents that she wanted a guitar for her 14th birthday. Not thinking that she would actually get it, she was pleasantly surprised to find a shiny new fire-engine-red Fender waiting for her. With her love of music and a desire to learn, she figured out how to play and eventually began writing her own songs throughout high-school and college. After graduating from Muhlenberg College in 2004 she moved to NYC to pursue her dream. After years of struggling she knew she needed an edge so Monica sought out one of NYC's top vocal coaches and found Tina Shafer (Vanessa Carlton, Avril Lavigne, Gabe Saporta (Cobra Starship)), who has helped Monica and her music evolve into a style that's fresh, new, and a little unrecognizable . Monica also became part of the NYC Songwriter's Circle and beat out thousands by receiving an honorable mention 3 years in a row in their annual songwriting contest. Her song "The Way We Used To Be" is featured on their compilation cd "The Best of-Volume 1." Monica is also thrilled to announce that she has just finished recording her debut album "Only Human" with some of NYC's best musicians such as Joe Bonadio (Marc Cohn, Martin Sexton), Marc Shulman (Richard Schindell, Jewel), and Jeff Allen (Roseanne Cash, Suzanne Vega) and top engineer Robert L. Smith (Rickie Lee Jones). Monica's storytelling on "Only Human" deals with real emotions that people may not always express but at one time or another have definitely felt. "Monica was always on her game during the sessions, the girl can PLAY!”, said mixer Robert Smith, "No studio trickery here. What you hear on the album is what you'll see live.”
Bobby Fingeroth - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Bobby Fingeroth
When you first hear the highly crafted, radio-friendly songwriting of Bobby Fingeroth, it's obvious that he has a natural talent for writing contemporary, soulful rock. While his influences, such as Dave Matthews Band and Pete Yorn can be detected in his music, it's his honest, hopeful, and personal lyrics that really draw you in.
Growing up in New York City, he was surrounded by music from an early age, but it surprises most to find out that Bobby actually didn't begin his musical and songwriting career until much later. While attending college in the mid-1990's he began to recognize his aptitude for the nuances of writing the type of music that people wanted to hear. Upon graduating from college, he learned to play guitar, began writing songs and surrounded himself with high caliber veterans of the music industry like Kenny White (Sean Colvin), Tony Salvatore (Perry Farrell), Riley McMahon (Spottiswoode & His Enemies) and Bruce Martin (Tom Tom Club/Tandy) before releasing his debut album Dilettante in 2004 to rave reviews.
Dilettante quickly received airplay throughout the US and Canada. Critics admired his sound and in turn his voice has frequently been compared with the likes of Live's Ed Kowalczyk, Matchbox 20's Rob Thomas and Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows. Further, Dilettante was selected by Starbucks-owned Hear Music to be sold in its retail locations in California, as well as over 50 Starbucks locations in Seattle and Austin.
Bobby has performed at top clubs and music venues throughout the Northeast as well as Colleges, Corporations and Charities. He is currently performing locally in New York, while he develops new material for his sophomore release.
Mark Farmer - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Mark Farmer
