Genesis Be & DJ Petra - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Genesis Be & DJ Petra
It’s 4:30 am in Manhattan on a cold November night. Genesis Be, producer and rapper, is in the studio running frantically to and from the recording room to the console, recording herself. “I have about four hours left” Genesis Be states as she grins at me. “Four hours of studio time?” I ask. After finishing a sip of espresso she replies, “No, four hours until class starts.”

Coming from an artist who just released a video for a single called, “No Sleep” her response does not surprise me. Dressed in a form fitting dress shirt and vest, Genesis Be looks more like a business manager rather than an aspiring rapper as she playfully slides around in the chair in front of the SSL Studio Console. She has a childlike demeanor yet speaks with such conviction and intensity that I cannot help but surrender my full attention. Sipping Starbucks in the dimly lit studio at The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music, Genesis shares her story of pain, resilience, ambition and vindication.

Genesis Be has just completed her fourth studio album titled “Mississippi To Manhattan”. Utilizing what she has learned at New York University’s prestigious Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music, Genesis took on the role of executive producer, writer, engineer, mixer and mastering engineer of the project. When asked about the difficulties of being a full time double major student and an independent performer Genesis Be says, “compared to what I’ve had to handle in my past, this time of my life is the easy part. It’s the perfect opportunity to prove my ability and show that this isn’t a game to me. This struggle is a blessing for me.”

Kiah Victoria - (Set time: 7:00 PM)
Kiah Victoria
Hello, my name is Kiah Victoria and I was born in Berlin, Germany. I moved around quite a bit as a child; Germany to New York to Kenya to Maryland. But fate brought me back to boroughs when I landed a starring role as Young Nala in Disney's production of The Lion King on Broadway when I was 10 years old. Probably the most magical 6 months of my life that further ignited my deep love for performing... I spent my high school days at Bowie High (Bowie, Maryland) performing in every musical, choir, play, and concert that I could get myself involved in. I also become very active in the Regional Theater circuit in Washington, D.C. I now reside in lower Manhattan where I study at Institute of Recorded Music in NYU's Tisch School of the Art. I am a singer/songwriter/performer/human who wants to instill joy through the power of song.

Kid Karma - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Kid Karma
Born November 3rd, 1993, Kid Karma represents the voice of the youth. He is currently working on his third independent mixtape. He has performed at legendary New Haven CT venue 'Toads Place', Simons Rock at Bard College, and other local school and venues. Ever since he can remember, he has been in love with hip-hop. As a young boy you would often find him with his headphones on bumping anyone from the Notorious B.I.G, to Busta Rhymes, to Eminem. As a child he excelled in writing, reading, and the English language. He especially loved storys with deep plots, and above all else, poetry. Now 17 years old, Karma has been writing hip-hop lyrics for over 7 years and has worked with many different artists and producers. Whether rapping about his future ambitions, to his struggles with faith you can gaurentee that he will bring you a track packed with complex lyrics, and intricate flow. In may of 2009, he released his first ever mixtape titled "Against All Odds". As he calls it, the CD was the "Epitome" of his soul. And is based on his struggles with his academics, drugs, and society itself. In 2010 he dropped his second official mixtape "Breaking The Silence". .. "It's true that it really is a shame when good people are silent. Growing up i never believed it when people told me that "Everyone can make a difference", but im slowly starting to see that small actions are the building blocks of larger ones. And without the small actions there would be no big ones at all. I believe in peace and love, and although i might not show it on the outside, these are the principles which drive my actions. Love cannot be expressed in words, and therefor should be displayed through actions. Stop talking about making a difference and make a difference through your actions. I stand up for what i believe in, and although you might not believe it, i would be willing to die for it too." - Karma
Omnia - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Coyote Terminal - (Set time: 11:59 PM)
Coyote Terminal
Coyote Terminal is a bond between 3 friends that want nothing more than to give the listener something they can privately admire or let loose too on a good night. Although we are all still cubs, Coyotes are what we call ourselves. The Terminal is the place where our lives depart from and ultimately arrive at. The sounds that would take a cub through this journey consist of many fluid movements of guitar plucking that when mixed along with bouning bass, and modern tribal drums will intertwine until they explode. Accompanied by young heart felt ooohs and ahhhs, these mirroring harmonic grooves and lines will bounce around in your head until you are humming and jumping along with them.
