Bern & The Brights - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Bern & The Brights

"Bern & the Brights" began as just a phrase, a gnawing hunch that woke singer Bernadette Malavarca in the middle of some night way ahead of the band's formation. She jotted it in a notebook with the rest of the thought: "Gonna start a band. It'll be Bern & the Brights . . . should be sleeping."

In 2008, by happenstance, the members came together to play one show at a local bookstore-closing. With amps cranked and drums pounding in a room completely inappropriate for a concert, plaster falling from the walls onto tipped over bookcases, an audience with eyes affixed on the band, rows of Converse tapping throughout each song, it was clear B&TB were onto something special.

Since then, B&TB have been quite busy. They have performed nearly 300 shows in the tri-state area and beyond, released two EPs, travelled the airwaves, and received warm reviews across the country and the seas.

The band is known for their evocative and energetic live show. With radiant chemistry and strong musicianship, they create an infectious, positive emotionality that takes over and transforms any room. Their fan base, playfully referred to as The Light Brigade, is ever-growing and spans a broad range of people who connect with the band's organic and romantic sound. Their sound has been described as "effortless genre-bending," and they have been compared to stalwart artists such as R.E.M., Dave Matthews Band, Jeff Buckley, and Coldplay.

Bern & the Brights are currently working on finishing a series of studio recordings and continuing regional touring for 2011.

Bern & the Brights are:

Bernadette Malavarca – lead guitar/vocals/percussion
Catherine McGowan – acoustic guitar/vocals
Shawn Fafara – bass
Jose Ulloa – drums

The band is fronted by songwriters Malavarca and McGowan.

Chelsea Madrigal now on the east coast has lived and performed all over Dallas, Austin, New York, Los Angeles and in Tepoztlan, Mexico.

She is an “open up your soul” kind of performer, that believe it or not, you might just want to catch her playing solo with nothing but her voice of a siren swirling in a sea of melodic rhythmic guitar to intoxicate and pull you in. Whether you catch her solo performance or with her ever evolving and revolving band, it will be time well spent.

When it comes to music Chelsea is much more than just a singer/songwriter. She records, produces and is well versed in Pro-Tools and other electronic mediums. She plays the guitar and a little bit of a lot of other instruments. She freelances as a music supervisor and music licensor. If you need music whether it is her own or her amazing network of extremely talented artists and musicians, she will deliver.

She has played venues from the legendary now extinct CBGB’s gallery in New York, and The Viper Room in Los Angeles, to The House Of Blues and The Kessler Theater in Dallas.

She has played several benefits for some amazing organizations such as Evolution Box’s benefit for 911 at Shine in New York, Susan G. Kohmen in Los Angeles and The Go Girls Music Festival and Benefit for Promise House in Dallas. She has played music festivals such as The Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice, California to Culture Catch’s SXSW showcase in Austin, Texas and several more.

Her vocals and songs have been featured in several films such as Carl Colpaert’s 2004 film The Affair winner of 5 Gold Remi Awards and 2010's horror release Nostrum.

Black Wing Halo - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Black Wing Halo
Like kids rummaging the finest musical dumpster, Black Wing Halo (formerly decibel.) has mended parts and motors, soldered and stitched, to curate a new musical monster. Based on acoustic roots and rhythms, but driving with a distorted punk force, Black Wing Halo leaves no compact bin unturned. In fact, everything is recycled.

Ever-expanding with a love and admiration for noise, soundscapes and distorted vocals, Black Wing Halo is their own favorite radio station. It started by adding pedals to an acoustic guitar, and even more to a microphone, which became two microphones, displaying different voices to represent different ideas. Then they added bass. To expand from their acoustic roots, they started playing electric instruments, which led way to a distorted blend of rowdy punk, crunchy electronic, old school laden hip hop, Tom Waitsian carnival, wrapped in a little verse/chorus/verse pop.

Black Wing Halo continues to spread to the masses as well, having played SXSW, NXNE, and CMJ, as well as selling out boat cruises, and rocking Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

As of now, Black Wing Halo is putting the finishing touches on their first album with producer Jason Rubal (The Cure, NIN, Dresden Dolls, Killswitch Engage) and can't wait to put it out there for all to enjoy.

True to their aural objective, this album will be unlike anything you have heard before.
Me and My Arrow - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Me and My Arrow
Like a tidal wave of sound Me and My Arrow's musical performances soak through every pore of the human body. The blend of strings, pianos, synths, guitars and urban clanging make for an orchestral sound that is larger than large. The pieces fit together in unique ways, coming together to create a new sonic palette the likes of which haven't been heard since the invention of the sonic boom. When the band comes together to vocalize either in harmony or unison one cannot do anything but feel. With every show the band gets better.
The Lesser Ghost - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
The Lesser Ghost
The Lesser Ghost was formed in late 2009 in the cramped confines of a walk-up apartment in New York's East Village. What started as an outlet for singer/songwriter Ben quickly evolved into a polished outfit, thanks to the creative collaboration of four co-conspirators that now form the band's backbone: Ryan Monk (drums), Ari Winters (bass), Aaron Windfield (keyboards) and Jack Elsey (guitar). With... intricate orchestrations, lush vocal harmonies, and soaring guitar solos, the five piece band weaves earnest lyrics and hooks through meticulous arrangements. The Lesser Ghost has developed a strong local following, playing to enthusiastic crowds in NYC's Lower East Side (Pianos, The Living Room, Crash Mansion) and throughout the Northeast. The band has already begun work on their follow-up to this spring's debut release.
