Lauren Diamond - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
Lauren Diamond
Lauren Diamond is a polished singer/songwriter based out of the Manhattan, New York area. Many of her listeners refer to her as “the girl who stomps her feet and sings with passion.” Lauren is from Tampa, Florida and has sung on cruise ships, restaurants/lounges, theatre & film and then moved her way towards the New York City to further develop her strong sense of style in the folk/acoustic genre inspired by Jewel, Norah Jones and Sarah Mclachlan. Miss Diamond is a self-taught guitar player of 8 years and has taken voice training since 13 years old. The development in her craft has been a continual journey that remains endless. Some of her training includes: Broadway Dance Center (one on one vocal coaching), a minor in Music from Montclair State University and many other vocal coaching with different techniques and concentrations. Lauren has well over thirty songs of copy written material consisting of all original pieces. Miss Diamond just made recent debut on the INS & OUTS magazine and was reviewed and interviewed my managing editor Audrey Dimola. You could watch the videos at Lauren’s currently focusing on performing at as many places as she can to get herself out there and tied into the music community. Some of Diamond’s hot spots to perform at are: The Waltz, The Quays, LIC Bar, Hennesseys, Smiths Bar, Orchard 77, Baggot Inn, Connelly’s, Kelly’s, La Negrita, Café Vivaldi, The Back Fence, Blackbirds, Boite Café and many other guest appearances at other venues. This coming month Lauren will be appearing on a radio show for Rewbees World Commercial on Arizzma which is based out of Manhattan, performing various gigs all over the New York area and coordinating a four artist’s solo project of her own which will be kicking off for May 13th in Brooklyn. Lauren is living her dream each time she steps on stage and only plans on climbing higher towards her vision.
Ryan Amador & The Wide Eyed Beings - (Set time: 8:30 PM)
Ryan Amador & The Wide Eyed Beings
Ryan Amador is a promising new singer/songwriter from New York City, making his recording debut with “Symptoms of a Wide Eyed Being”, his first EP with Funky Butter Productions. Like a music smoothie of pop, soul, modern folk, and easy listening, Ryan has given birth to a new contemporary pop sound with “Symptoms,” one that keeps the people wanting more.
Katlyn Swanson - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Katlyn Swanson
I have been calling myself an artist ever since I began to write and produce my own music at 14. I learned how to play the piano, viola, and cello at a very young age, I picked up how to play a drum set in high school, sang in various choirs, danced, performed in musicals and theatre productions, and even taught myself how to play guitar. Despite having a widespread love for music, I have always thought of myself as a singer before everything else.
On my 14th birthday, my parents bought me a Mac laptop and a 49-key MIDI keyboard to start recording and producing my own music. I loved the feeling I got from transforming a song I heard in my head into a tangible work of art that I could easily share with anyone. I was so excited about my newfound passion that I decided it was time to graduate on to live performing. I started by calling up a trusty guitarist friend to play jazz and contemporary music with. We rehearsed weekly until I began booking our own shows around the Chicago-land area. One gig led to another until we had multiple shows a week! I knew for certain that performing and recording was something I wanted to make a career out of.
At 18, I moved to New York to study Recorded Music at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and have since gotten a full band together to perform with: Katlyn Swanson & The Return. We play at venues like The Bitter End, The Delancey Bar, The National Underground, Ella Lounge, The Iridium Jazz Club, Slane Public House, Bowery Poetry Club, The Living Room, The Hit Factory, and Rockwood Music Hall. Upon graduating, I plan to stay in New York City to focus on promoting myself as a recording artist in addition to working as a booking agent for TurnStyle Music Group. I’m now writing music for my up-coming EP, “Under Cover,” to be released in 2014.
