As I mentioned yesterday, Ernest Greene, the mastermind behind synth pop act Washed Out, is also a pioneer of this new wave of bedroom oriented electronic music dubbed chillwave. His sound and aesthetic, not to mention his name captures the essence of this style even more so than his contemporary and friend Chaz from Toro Y Moi. Here is a fan made video to go along with his breakout hit, “Feel It All Around”, from his 2009 EP Life of Leisure. In keeping with the aesthetic the vacationers in the video seem to be soaking in the sun, the surf and some good old fashioned rest and relaxation. Check out “I Want You” by italo disco artist Gary Low to hear where Greene got the signature sample from.
